Ramada Hotel & Suites by Wyndham Costa del Sol sits on the Mijas Costa at kilometre 206 of the old Cadiz road, roughly halfway between Malaga and Marbella and about two kilometres from the Fuengirola seafront. It is an apartment resort rather than a hotel block: 216 suites and apartments spread across five garden neighbourhoods, from Marina Park beside the kids club to Marina del Rey on its quiet tree-lined street, and each accommodation category has its own pool area. Every unit has a kitchen or kitchenette, an open-plan living room with a sofa bed and a furnished balcony or terrace, and many look out over the Mediterranean. Six swimming pools, three children’s pools and a jacuzzi are spread through the grounds, two of them heated from November to May.

Guests have the run of the wider Wyndham Costa del Sol complex, and a free road train links the neighbourhoods to the restaurants and the beach access point. Zac’s Restaurant & Bar is the family hub, with a continental breakfast buffet, steaks and seafood at dinner, live sport on the terrace and a daily happy hour from five to six. Safari serves Spanish classics in a rainforest-inspired dining room with regular live entertainment, and the Mediterraneo Pool Terrace handles long lunches of salads, pasta and gourmet burgers. The Team Marina kids club for ages 4 to 15 is free with no booking, there are two tennis courts, a gym, a sauna and treatment rooms, the Castillo Sohail is a short walk away and Fuengirola’s promenade about two kilometres along the coast.
