The Spark Hotel is the Spark by Hilton Ormond Beach Oceanfront, a 147-room, seven-storey property that sits right on the Atlantic at 205 S Atlantic Avenue, with the sand a few steps past the pool gate. Every room opens onto its own balcony or patio, and the layout runs from Kings and Double Queens up to Queen Oceanview rooms and a King Suite with a separate living area. Each one adds a mini-fridge, a seating area, streaming on the TV, and Hilton Honors Digital Key at the door. Outside, the pool and a sun terrace sit directly above the beach and look straight down the shoreline, and a complimentary breakfast spread of cereal, bagels, eggs, oatmeal and muffins runs every morning.

Ormond Beach is the quiet north end of the Daytona Beach area, and this stretch of it is walkable. The Casements, the winter home John D. Rockefeller retired to, and the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Garden are both about a fifth of a mile away, with Ormond Beach City Center a mile and a half on. Four and a half miles south, the Daytona Beach Boardwalk, the Bandshell at its north end, and the Daytona Lagoon waterpark open up, with Jackie Robinson Ballpark a little further. Daytona International Speedway is roughly a twenty-minute run inland, and Daytona Beach International Airport is ten miles out.
